As promised we wanted to send a quick update with our proposed Kickstarter Live schedule.
What is Kickstarter Live? Kickstarter live is a chance for us to interact with you, our backers, and answer any questions you might have via live video. We schedule a live video, and each of you can join the live stream, ask questions, and see the bags.
Here is our proposed schedule:
We tried our best to space out the time of day we do each Kickstarter live so that international backers can join in as well. If you can’t make one, no biggie, join us on the other one.

We can't thank you enough for helping us get funded and take the first step to bring these products to life. It is so rewarding to put your heart and soul into something for over a year, share it with the world, and then see the amazing response that you have given us over the past 48 hours. Funded in under 30 minutes and over 2,500 backers already from 59 countries spanning every continent except Antarctica … Thanks for joining the global NOMATIC family!
If you have questions about the products, keep reading and we hope to answer those here. If you are satisfied, we just wanted to say thank you for the support and you don't have to read the rest of the update.
We want to address some common questions in this update that we are seeing from backers new and old:
Kickstarter live:
Over the coming weeks we are putting together a Kickstarter Live Schedule where we will jump on a live video feed and you can ask us any questions that you want. We will post that schedule as soon as we have it.
Managing rewards, super early birds, and multiple bags:
There have been a lot of questions regarding selection of rewards. Please note that if you backed our campaign at one of the super early bird rewards and want another bag, you must add $119 to your pledge for another Laptop bag and $169 to your pledge for another messenger bag. Unfortunately, we cannot offer the super early bird price for both bags. The super early birds are almost gone and we will not increase the number available. However, a spot will occasionally open up as people change their minds and want a bundle or a different bag. Based on the initial demand, we plan to increase the number of regular early birds and will continue to do so as it makes sense. Why? Based on high volumes we want to pass that savings onto our backers.
Laptop Size:
There have also been a lot of questions regarding the laptop size. The reason we have not given any specific measurements is because we are working on giving the laptop pocket slightly more room and will receive a sample soon with the new dimensions. Once we get those new dimensions, and approve the change, we will let everyone know the final specs. In our Kickstarter video we are putting a 15" Macbook Pro (An older version that doesn't have USB-C), and that currently fits comfortably. The added space should make it so that most, if not all 15" laptops will fit. Unfortunately, if you have a 17" laptop the increased space will probably not be enough, and these are probably not the right bags for you as we don't plan to make a 17" version.
Shoulder strap:
We feel that the shoulder padding is currently good, but we will do some additional testing to make sure the padding is sufficient.
Cord pass through:
Cord pass through holes are being evaluated on these and our other bags to make them fit a wider range of cords.
Additional colors:
Currently we have no plans to introduce additional colors.
Locking zippers:
All exterior pockets will have two zipper pulls on each zipper and will have locking zippers. The only exception to this is the easy access pocket at the top of the messenger bag which only has 1 zipper pull and is not lockable.
Top handles:
The handle on the top of each bag is a padded tube webbing similar to the ones found on the sides of our backpacks. We explored the idea of adding our comfy handle found on the backpack and travel bag to the tops of these bags as well and because the messenger and laptop bags are so much smaller, it was very bulky and was a tight fit. From our testing we feel the current handles are sufficient for day to day use.
